This policy explains what personal information Tunnel Tech collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website only.
What we collect when you contact us
If you send us a message using a form on this site, we receive and store thename, email address, phone number (if you give one) and message you enter. Alongside those we record yourIP address, the page you submitted from and thedate and time — these help us tell a real enquiry from automated spam.
We use this to reply to you and to keep a record of the enquiry. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to.
Who else handles it
We keep the website deliberately free of third-party content, so the list is short:
- Cloudflare hosts this website and stores form submissions. Submissions are held in a database in Cloudflare's network.
- Mailgun delivers the email notification that tells us an enquiry has arrived. Your message passes through Mailgun to reach our inbox.
- CleanTalk screens submissions for spam. The name, email, message and IP address are checked against its database so we can filter automated submissions.
- Google Analytics tells us how the site is used — which pages are read, roughly where visitors are from, and which links are followed. See below.
These providers process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under the laws of those countries.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser to recognise repeat visits and measure how the site is used. It tells us about traffic patterns, not about you personally, and we do not combine it with anything you send us through the contact form.
You can block it: decline or clear cookies in your browser, or install Google'sopt-out browser add-on. The site works exactly the same either way. Apart from analytics, this site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we may reasonably need them — to answer follow-up questions, honour a quote, or support equipment we have supplied. You can ask us to delete yours sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and withdraw your consent to our using it. Write to us using the details below and we will respond.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to theOffice of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS. Form submissions are rate-limited and screened, and access to stored enquiries is restricted to Tunnel Tech staff.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and the date at the top.
